On Thursday 4thApril 2019, OneWorld Education UK welcomed headteachers and school representatives from China, as part of our ongoing Global Youth Ambassador Project, fostering international relationships within schools, to promote Global learning and break down cultural barriers for both students and teaching staff alike.
During this visit, our international guests were given the opportunity to tour local GYAP schools, giving them valuable insight into our education system, teaching style and each schools approach to student enrichment during their academic years. First stop was Oak Academy, where headteachers from Oak, Elm Academy and LeAF Studio joined together to welcome our international visitors, along with the Director of Outcomes of AAT – Paul Holman – who gave a fabulous welcome and overview of the background, development and partnership of these schools within Ambitions Academic Trust. Also in attendance were students from Oak Academy who are part of our GYA Project, and have visited China, or will be visiting this year, as part of this programme.
Our visiting headteachers were welcomed to tour the three schools, visiting classes and interacting with the students and teaching staff, before then regrouping for a mutual exchange of gifts and thanks.
“We are really pleased to be able to welcome the Chinese delegates to Oak Academy as part of our partnership with One World Education UK. Providing valuable learning opportunities and experiences is at the heart of everything we do at Ambitions Academies Trust.Students and staff at Oak Academy have really benefitted from multiple educational visits to China and it is a pleasure to reciprocate by hosting Principals and Educational Advisors from China. Our visitors were particularly interested in our teaching and learning pedagogy and very much appreciated the opportunity to see this first hand today with classroom tours at Elm Academy, Oak Academy and Leaf Studio. I look forward to another group of Oak Academy students visiting China this coming summer to enrich their global learning.”
