On 23rg November 2019, teachers from Crosthwaite School, Redbridge Community School, Stantonbury International, and Redgate Primary School, embarked on a fully funded trip to China as part of OneWorld Education UK's GYA project, working toward building international relationships within education.
Shirley King, a teacher from Crosthwaite School, recalls her visit and the lasting effects it has had.
"I totally loved the trip and feel incredibly appreciative to have been given the opportunity. China is beautiful and bonkers! It was so interesting to get a peek into Chinese schooling and so amazing to experience Chinese hospitality first hand. I was not sure what to expect from the trip but it has really widened my understanding of a different education system. I have spent time sharing all my photos and videos with my school and they have sparked so much discussion - my class wanted to learn more about China and were so excited to hear the stories about the school children we met. They are really looking forward to having Chinese students come to our school.
Thanks so much for giving me the opportunity - I don't think I will ever forget it."
